Situated so close to the countries of South East and East Asia and especially Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand have a special need to maintain cordial and cooperative relations with the countries of our neighbourhood.
The Asia Society AustralAsia Centre will strive to widen knowledge and understanding of Asia within the Australian community. The Centre does this by offering programmes that leverage its connections throughout the Asian region in order that linkages are strengthened between Australia and its neighbours.
The launch of the Centre's own dedicated website is a particularly exciting development in the time since the Centre's launch in May, 1997.
Now ready access to information about the Centre, its aims, objectives, programming as well as the archive of newsletters and speeches can easily be obtained.
The website also offers the Centre the opportunity to provide linkages to its key corporate funders, partners and other organisations of a complimentary nature. This will help facilitate greater communication between those with a strong interest in Asia.
We welcome you to the website and welcome any comments you may have that may help improve the website.
